These coil-over shocks fit the rear of all Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Type 3 models, and can be used as front shocks on 1965 and earlier Type 1s as well as '67 and earlier Types 2s if the lower bushing is trimmed. Note: Coil Over shocks do NOT lower your vehicle. The adjustable coil-over shocks allow you to set your suspension to fit your needs. Coil O.D. is 2 1/4", the extended length is 17.8" and the compressed length is 12". The shocks feature a chrome spring, cap and adjuster over a black shock and come with spanner tool to adjust the spring tension. Reference: Part# 9570-8

The eyelets at the upper and lower ends of the shock have a 12mm (just under 1/2") inner diameter sleeve. The mount on the trailing arm should measure about 11.9mm (just over 7/16"). If the hole is "too small" to fit on the lower mount, then the old shock sleeve has rusted in place and must be removed. Sometimes a pair of vice grips is all it takes, sometimes heat, a chisel or even a cut off wheel have been needed.

The upper shock sleeve is approximately 32mm wide and the lower sleeve is approximately 47mm wide. When used on the front of link pin front ends, the lower bushing must be trimmed to fit on to the trailing arm mount.

Los ojales en los extremos superior e inferior del amortiguador tienen un manguito de 12 mm (poco menos de 1/2") de diámetro interior. El soporte en el brazo de arrastre debe medir aproximadamente 11,9 mm (poco más de 7/16"). Si el orificio es "demasiado pequeño" para caber en el soporte inferior, entonces el viejo manguito del amortiguador se ha oxidado en su lugar y debe retirarse. A veces basta con un par de mordazas, a veces se necesita calor, un cincel o incluso un disco de corte.

La funda de choque superior tiene aproximadamente 32 mm de ancho y la funda inferior tiene aproximadamente 47 mm de ancho. Cuando se utiliza en la parte delantera de los extremos delanteros del pasador de enlace, el casquillo inferior debe recortarse para que encaje en el soporte del brazo de arrastre.
